C004184 Systems Engineer (CIS Security Accreditation)

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • CIS Security Assurance: Support security assurance of all NDWC services.

  • Policy Compliance: Ensure enforcement of NATO policies, directives, SOPs; provide tailored guidance to Service Area Owners.

  • Cyber Liaison: Liaise with NATO Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) for operational support and coordination.

  • Security Engineering: Offer subject matter expertise to maintain secure operations in NCIA’s global networks.

  • Information Security: Manage security processes for internal and customer-funded networks.

  • Requirements Resolution: Help resolve conflicting security requirements; assist in translating customer needs into secure services.

  • Architecture Support: Coordinate with system administrators to fulfill security architecture needs.

  • Performance Reporting: Identify and report on cybersecurity KPIs for visibility of NDWC managed systems.

  • Testing Support: Assist in vulnerability assessments and penetration tests with NCSC and SECAN.

  • Accreditation: Support all phases of the security accreditation process with the NCSC Accreditation Support Office.

  • Additional Roles: Deputize for senior staff if needed and perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

Education & Experience (Essential):

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field 2 years of related experience.

  • OR: 6 years of relevant experience if no degree.

Skills & Knowledge (Essential):

  • Experience in:

    • CIS Security

    • Security Architecture

    • Network Security Engineering

    • Risk & Performance Management

  • Effective communication skills (oral & written)

  • Experience working in secure, networked environments

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Technical Knowledge:

    • Kubernetes, Docker, microservices

    • Public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.)

    • Cloud security architecture and DevSecOps tools

    • Security tools: Nessus, NMAP, Tanium, Defender, Trelix ePO

    • Patch/update systems (MS/Linux)

    • IT security frameworks and CVSS scoring

  • NATO/International Experience:

    • Familiarity with NATO structures and security policy

    • Experience in multinational (military/civilian) environments

    • Understanding of AI-related cyber risk management

Certifications (Desirable):

  • AWS Cloud Practitioner

  • Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK)

  • ISC2 CISSP or CCSP

  • ISACA CISM

Travel: May include travel to Mons
