Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Configure, operate, and secure Windows-based systems across NATO’s CSSL infrastructure.

  • Install, update, migrate, and support Microsoft-based infrastructure (servers, networks, computers) at Tier 2 and Tier 3 NATO remote sites.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on-site and remotely.

  • Manage daily operations of Windows system environments, including performance and capacity planning.

  • Conduct system configuration changes and upgrades based on security or obsolescence needs.

  • Maintain servers, generate system logs, and monitor performance across multiple sites.

  • Identify and remediate security vulnerabilities within the required timelines.

  • Support specialist application upgrades and changes, including Change Management Board presentations.

  • Implement improvement processes to reduce incident frequency and system downtime.


Required Qualifications and Experience:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with at least 5 years of relevant experience
    or

  • Secondary education plus advanced vocational training and 7 years of relevant experience.

Technical Skills (Mandatory):

  • Minimum 5 years of experience administering large-scale Windows applications or Active Directory Domain environments.

  • Proven ability in developing and maintaining Windows platforms supporting multiple client environments.

  • Strong expertise in the following Microsoft technologies:

    • Windows Server 2019/2022

    • Windows 11

    • Microsoft Configuration Manager

    • Microsoft Exchange Server 2016/2019

    • Remote Desktop Services / Terminal Services

  • Familiarity with virtualization platforms, preferably VMware.

Technical Skills (Desirable):

  • Microsoft certifications (current and relevant).

  • Experience implementing and validating NCIA CSSL security standards.

  • Recognized cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CISM, MCSE/S, CISA, GSNA, or GIAC.

  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, especially confidentiality, integrity, and availability (CIA triad).

  • Prior experience in international/military-civilian work environments.


Additional Information:

  • Occasional travel within Belgium (e.g., Brussels or Braine L’Alleud) may be required once per quarter.

  • Only candidates holding a valid NATO CTS clearance can be considered. Applications with CTS "in progress" are not eligible.
