RFQ 2025-0273, Provision of Technical Software Tester Services; Support the NIRIS testing

DUTIES

(Tasks and responsibilities to be performed)

1. Test Case Management

   • Write, execute, and maintain NIRIS test cases, both manual and automated.

2. Collaboration

   • Work closely with developers and subject matter experts to understand product use cases and features.

   • Attend team meetings to provide progress updates and communicate impediments.

3. Knowledge Sharing

   • Share knowledge within the team.

   • Organize trainings or demos.

   • Document information in a knowledge database.

4. Work Independence and Organization

   • Work independently and be self-organized.

   • Focus on outcome-driven results aligned with team targets.

5. Test Environment Setup

   • Create setups using Virtual Machines and standard servers (DNS, HTTP, Active Directory, Monitoring) on Linux-based OS.

6. Tool Usage and Integration

   • Use NATO Software Factory tools such as GitLab, Jira, Zephyr, Nexus, etc.

   • Update task statuses in Jira, commit code to GitLab, and maintain test procedures/results in Zephyr.

7. Remote and On-site Work

   • Perform most tasks remotely using agency-provided hardware.

   • Be available for occasional on-site work at NCI Agency, The Hague (Netherlands).

REQUIREMENTS

(Qualifications, skills, and experience needed)

1. Work Ethic and Attitude

   • Ability to work independently with a can-do attitude.

   • Strong focus on deliverables.

2. Testing Experience

   • Recent experience testing WebGUI, REST API, and CLI interfaces for networking products.

   • Experience in manual test case planning, writing, and execution.

   • Experience testing computer networking software and Tactical Data Link systems (e.g. Link16, Link22, OTH-G).

   • Experience testing interoperability between software systems.

3. Technical Troubleshooting

   • Ability to troubleshoot and debug issues on Windows Servers and Linux OS.

   • Familiarity with:

     • IP Addressing, Routing

     • DNS, HTTP

     • Active Directory

     • Certificate Management

4. Programming and Scripting

   • Basic knowledge of Java, Linux bash, and Ansible.

5. Tool Proficiency

   • Experience using Jira, Zephyr, GitLab.

   • Familiarity with the Scrum methodology.

6. Automation Testing (Preferred)

   • Experience writing end-to-end automation test cases using:

     • Robot Framework

     • Gauge

     • Cucumber

7. Certifications (Preferred)

   • Technical certifications from: Microsoft, RedHat, CompTIA, CISCO.

   • Testing certifications: ISTQB, TMAP, or equivalent.

8. Language and Nationality

   • Full professional proficiency in English.

   • Must be a national of a NATO member nation.
