Overview

We are looking for an experienced Windows System Administrator to support NATO CMRE operations in La Spezia. The role focuses on managing and maintaining secure IT infrastructure across classified and unclassified environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP

• Perform system installation, configuration, updates, and troubleshooting

• Manage virtualized environments and VDI infrastructure

• Monitor system performance, availability, and security; generate reports and recommend improvements

• Execute backup and recovery procedures

• Support release management, including rollout and rollback processes

• Develop automation scripts for system administration tasks

• Maintain technical documentation and standard operating procedures

• Collaborate with Service Desk for 1st and 2nd line support

• Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices

• Provide user support and training when needed

Mandatory Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in system administration

• At least 3 years’ experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP

• Strong experience with WSUS and SCCM

• Experience with Certification Authority (CA) and Network Policy Server (NPS)

• Experience in virtualization and VDI environments

• Scripting skills for automation (e.g. PowerShell)

• Solid understanding of system security (physical and electronic)

• User-focused mindset and ability to work in dynamic environments

• Vocational or higher education in a relevant technical field (or equivalent experience)

Desirable Skills

• Microsoft SQL Server administration

• VMware or Microsoft certifications (e.g. MCSA)

• Experience in hybrid Windows/Linux environments

• Knowledge of ITIL framework

• Experience with configuration management and collaboration tools

• Prior experience in international/military environments

• Certifications such as Security or Network
