Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain Linux-based infrastructure (RHEL servers, Ubuntu desktops) across classified and unclassified environments

• Perform system installation, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance using standard procedures and automation tools

• Administer core services including DNS, DHCP, LDAP, Apache, MySQL, and anti-malware solutions

• Integrate Linux systems within Windows environments (Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, authentication tools like Centrify)

• Develop and maintain scripts to automate system administration tasks

• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and security of systems

• Support backup, recovery, and release management activities (including rollout/rollback procedures)

• Provide 2nd line support and collaborate closely with Service Desk teams

• Produce and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures

• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and provide user-focused support

Mandatory Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including:

  • At least 3 years with Linux (RHEL & Ubuntu) in virtualized environments

• Hands-on experience with Linux scripting (e.g. Bash)

• Strong experience managing services such as Bind, Apache, MySQL, LDAP, anti-malware tools

• Proven experience with virtualization (VMware)

• Experience integrating Linux into Windows/AD environments (Centrify)

• Solid knowledge of network troubleshooting and infrastructure diagnostics

• Experience with LDAP, SELinux, repositories, IPA authentication

• Ability to work in a dynamic, user-facing environment with a service-oriented mindset

Desirable Skills

• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)

• Knowledge of security standards (NCSC, NIST, ISO 27001)

• Familiarity with load balancing, firewalls, and network technologies (e.g. Cisco, SAN)

• Experience with automation (advanced shell scripting, PowerShell for Centrify)

• Experience with Git version control

• Relevant certifications (e.g. RHCE, Linux , Security , VCP)

• Experience in international or military environments

• Ability to lead or contribute to infrastructure projects
