Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain backend applications and software solutions.
- Build and maintain data pipelines, databases, and data engineering solutions.
- Design and implement data models and ensure data quality, integrity, and security.
- Develop and optimize business intelligence reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.
- Analyze data, develop analytical models, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Transform, integrate, and manage data from multiple sources.
- Monitor software performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements.
- Collaborate with technical teams to review code, improve solutions, and deliver high-quality software.
- Evaluate user experience, collect feedback, and recommend system improvements.
- Ensure compliance with development standards, information management policies, and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience).
- Experience as a Backend Engineer, Data Analyst, Data Scientist, or similar technical role.
- Strong programming skills in Python, R, C#, or a similar language.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases (e.g. SQL Server).
- Experience building data pipelines, data models, and data engineering solutions.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Grafana, or R Shiny.
- Knowledge of business intelligence, analytics, and reporting.
- Familiarity with user experience metrics and usability evaluation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- ITIL Foundation, DevOps Foundation, or relevant software development certifications are desirable.
- Previous experience in an international or NATO environment is an advantage.
- Active NATO Secret Security Clearance (required).

- Travel: Up to 2 business trips per week within Belgium
