Key duties
- Deliver first- and second-line operational support for enterprise network services.
- Diagnose and resolve network incidents and service requests promptly and systematically.
- Monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize network infrastructure.
- Install, configure, replace, and support routing, switching, authentication, wireless, and related technologies.
- Administer Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), including client provisioning and network changes.
- Perform configuration management, backups, maintenance, and system-health checks.
- Support infrastructure refresh and deployment projects through staging, testing, migration, commissioning, and acceptance.
- Implement network upgrades, configurations, and mandatory security controls.
- Support security assessments, compliance activities, and infrastructure validation.
- Maintain SOPs, technical documentation, configuration records, and backups.
- Identify and recommend improvements to network performance, resilience, processes, and service quality.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, NCIA Service Lines, project teams, and external providers.
- Participate in planning meetings and technical reviews, reporting progress, risks, issues, and operational activities.
- Work independently with limited supervision while contributing to the wider technical team.
- Provide planned support outside normal working hours when necessary.
Essential requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with at least four years of relevant professional experience.
- Valid Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification.
- At least four years’ support experience with:
- Campus networks using Cisco Software-Defined Access.
- Data-centre networks using Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure.
- At least two years’ experience with:
- DNS, DHCP, and IP address management systems.
- Cisco ISE.
- Network-monitoring systems such as Cisco Prime, Cisco Catalyst Center, Zabbix, or Cisco NDFC.
- Wireless network implementation and support.
- Experience supporting multi-tenant network environments and multicast technologies.
- Knowledge and support experience with firewall systems.
- Experience implementing and supporting network load-balancing techniques.

- Regular reports covering operations, project progress, risks, and issues.
Desirable qualifications
- Experience supporting VMware virtual networking and Infoblox.
- Working experience with Splunk.
- Knowledge of PKI certificates and associated systems.
- ITIL Service Operations certification.
- Experience in an international environment involving both military and civilian personnel.
