Duties
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise virtualization and server infrastructure across data centers, office locations, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot VMware vSphere environments including ESXi hosts, vCenter, clusters, HA, DRS, vMotion, and storage integrations.
- Administer and maintain Windows Server and Linux systems, including patching, hardening, performance tuning, and lifecycle management.
- Manage enterprise storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions to ensure data protection, resilience, and business continuity.
- Support identity and access management services including Active Directory, Group Policy, MFA, RBAC, and privileged access controls.
- Monitor infrastructure health using Splunk and other monitoring platforms; create dashboards, alerts, and operational reports.
- Analyze logs and telemetry data to proactively identify risks, incidents, capacity constraints, and performance issues.
- Develop automation solutions using PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Terraform, or PowerCLI to streamline provisioning, patching, compliance, configuration management, and operational tasks.
- Utilize monitoring tools to track server health, virtualization performance, storage utilization, backup status, and service availability.
- Lead incident response for critical infrastructure outages and restore services within SLA targets.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to reduce recurring incidents and improve platform stability.
- Serve as senior escalation point for complex infrastructure issues and strategic engineering initiatives.
- Mentor junior engineers and share best practices in systems administration, virtualization, automation, and operational excellence.
- Lead infrastructure projects such as datacenter migrations, VMware upgrades, server refreshes, cloud integrations, and platform modernization initiatives.
- Maintain accurate documentation, standards, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures for the infrastructure environment.
- Collaborate with networking, security, cloud, and application teams to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable enterprise services.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, standardization, security, and operational efficiency within the Engineering Team..
Requirement
- 7 years of hands-on experience in enterprise systems administration and operations.
- Strong expertise in VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi host management, vCenter administration, HA, DRS, vMotion, clustering, and lifecycle management.
- Advanced knowledge of enterprise virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere, VMware NSX, VMware vSAN, Nutanix, or Hyper-V.
- Strong expertise in Windows Server and Linux administration, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, identity integration, patching, and system hardening.
- Experience with storage and backup technologies, including SAN/NAS administration, datastores, replication, snapshots, and backup solutions such as Veeam, Commvault, or Rubrik.
- Strong expertise in automation and infrastructure as code, using PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Terraform, or VMware PowerCLI.
- Experience with monitoring and logging platforms for infrastructure health, performance, and troubleshooting, such as Splunk, vRealize Operations, Icinga/Nagios, , Zabbix, PRTG, or Grafana.
- Hands-on knowledge of system security, access control, and compliance, including MFA, PAM, endpoint hardening, vulnerability remediation, and RBAC administration.
- Experience managing hybrid infrastructure environments, including on-premises virtualization and cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or VMware Cloud.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals in virtualized environments, including VLANs, virtual switching, load balancing, DNS, and firewall integration.
- Experience with incident management, root cause analysis, disaster recovery, and major outage resolution in enterprise environments.
- Experience mentoring engineers, leading infrastructure projects, and acting as a senior escalation point.
- Experience with automation-driven operational improvements, including scripting, orchestration, self-service provisioning, and configuration management.
- Knowledge of containerization and modern infrastructure platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift is a plus.
- Required Security Clearance: NATO Secret.
