Key Duties / Responsibilities

GIS Application Development
- Design, develop, and deploy web-based GIS applications
- Use tools like ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript and modern web frameworks
Web Mapping & Data Integration
- Implement and update web mapping functionalities
- Integrate spatial data via REST APIs
- Work with both classified and unclassified geospatial data sources
Data Processing & Management
- Perform data conversion and preprocessing using Python and spatial ETL tools
- Create and manage geospatial data models, layers, and map services
System Performance & Optimization
- Configure map services for efficient web delivery
- Optimize backend queries and map rendering performance
Documentation
- Maintain technical documentation (code, architecture, service endpoints)
Compliance & Quality
- Ensure applications meet security, usability, and accessibility standards
Collaboration & Support
- Work under supervision of the GIS Project Manager
- Support development and maintenance of GIS systems
- Provide knowledge transfer to internal staff
- Contribute to additional projects as required

Requirements (Experience, Skills, Qualifications)

Minimum 5 years in web development (JavaScript/HTML frameworks like React, Vue, Angular)
Hands-on experience with web mapping tools (e.g., ArcGIS Maps SDK)
Strong experience in Python for geospatial processing (ArcPy, GeoPandas, GDAL, etc.)
Experience building backend services or geospatial processing pipelines
