ICT Security Accreditation expert

Key Duties

  • Oversee the security accreditation and approval process for ICT projects.
  • Review security documentation (risk assessments, security plans, audit reports, requirements, testing, etc.).
  • Assess security accreditation requests and prepare approval letters and recommendations.
  • Provide security architecture advice and guidance to project managers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop security risk assessments and other security documentation when required.
  • Support CIS security risk management activities.
  • Recommend improvements to security processes, templates, and accreditation procedures.
  • Represent the Security Accreditation Authority in cybersecurity meetings and security boards.
  • Submit bi-weekly status reports to the NATO supervisor.
  • Perform other security-related tasks as assigned.

Requirements

Experience

  • Minimum 8 years of ICT security experience.
  • Strong background in security architecture and security accreditation/approval.
  • Experience implementing ICT systems and applications.
  • Experience with both on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Ideally experienced in:
    • International or government organizations.
    • Classified environments.
    • Complex multi-stakeholder environments.

Education & Technical Knowledge

  • University degree in a technical field (or equivalent advanced vocational qualification).
  • Strong understanding of ICT infrastructure and security technologies (e.g. PKI, firewalls, directory services, databases).
  • Knowledge of modern on-premises and cloud technologies.
  • Understanding of project management methodologies (preferably PRINCE2).
  • Desirable:
    • Knowledge of NATO CIS security directives.
    • Cybersecurity risk management or security accreditation certifications (e.g. PACS, IT-Grundschutz, ENS).
    • AI security knowledge.

Skills

  • Excellent drafting, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Experience organizing workshops and leading meetings.
  • Advanced English (NATO Level V).

Other

  • Location: NATO Headquarters, Brussels (primarily on-site with limited teleworking from Belgium).
  • Security Clearance: NATO SECRET.
  • Travel: None to minimal.
