Duties
- Operate, monitor, and maintain IaaS services and data center infrastructure on a daily basis.
- Administer virtual environments and perform system administration for assigned systems.
- Support design, engineering, implementation, integration, and lifecycle management of infrastructure services and projects.
- Install, manage, and operate infrastructure and common user services across NATO networks.
- Monitor data center hardware, perform physical checks, replace faulty components, and ensure proper functioning of equipment.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and data center issues, ensure timely resolution, and maintain operational records.
- Ensure compliance with SLAs, change management processes, and update CMDB and network topology documentation.
- Support development and maintenance of procedures, SOPs, and operational documentation.
- Advise and support service delivery managers and stakeholders on infrastructure lifecycle and service aspects.
- Coordinate with IaaS management to ensure aligned and efficient operations.
- Identify operational issues and contribute to their resolution.
- Perform ad hoc tasks and additional duties as required.
- Participate in scheduled maintenance, on-call support, and after-hours work.
- Travel to other operational locations when required.
Requirements
- MSc with 5 years experience or BSc with 7 years experience in a relevant field.
- Strong practical experience in data center technologies, including servers, storage, virtualization, and backup/restore.
- Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere (v7 ), blade and rack servers, and knowledge of VCF.
- Solid knowledge of SAN/NAS technologies and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, FC, FCoE, iSCSI, WWN, etc.).
- Experience with data center infrastructure, cabling, and equipment management.
- Proficiency in Active Directory, Windows Server, and Linux (Red Hat).
- Experience in IT asset and configuration management (CMDB).
- Knowledge of automation tools (e.g., VMware Aria, Ansible).
- Practical understanding of ITIL processes and IT security principles.
- Ability to install, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot infrastructure systems.
- Strong documentation skills (designs, configurations, SOPs).
- Good communication skills and strong teamwork capability.
- Ability to respond to incidents outside normal working hours and adapt to technological changes.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., VMware VCP, CompTIA Server /Network , CCNA) and data center certifications are advantageous.
- Experience in service provisioning environments and knowledge of NATO context is a plus.
- Willingness to travel and work on-site.
- Mandatory NATO Cosmic Top Secret security clearance.
