Linux Administrator (IaaS)
- Responsible for the system administration of assigned systems
- Identifies operational problems and contributes to their resolution
- Server platform problem resolution
- Implements & tests new hardware/software releases
- Contributes to the development of Standard Operating Procedures for routine system administration tasks
- Uses system management software and tools to collect agreed performance statistics
- Carries out agreed system software maintenance tasks.
Requirements:
- Practical experience in the installation, monitoring, configuration & patching of Oracle Solaris & Linux server hardware
- Practical experience in Oracle Solaris & Hewlett Packard storage hardware (NAS/SAN)
- Practical experience in Tape drives/libraries (L8 tape library/SL48 tape library & C2 tape library)
- Practical experience in Storage technology (Fibre channels, NFS, ZFS filesystems)
- Practical experience in the installation, monitoring, tuning/configuring, patching, auditing and security hardening of the Oracle
- Practical experience in Solaris 10 and Oracle Linux 6 or above operating systems in a networked environment.
Desirable Requirements
- Oracle Certified Network Administrator for Solaris 1 O/Linux 6
- Oracle Certified Security Administrator for Solaris 1 O/Linux 6
- Knowledge of (based on Solaris 10/Linux 6)
- HP DL580 servers, Oracle SPARC M4000 servers, Oracle Skill, Knowledge & Experience: SPARC T5xxx servers, Oracle X32 servers
- Role based access control, sudo, IP Filters
- Oracle RDBMS 11 g & higher
- Ventas Netbackup 6.5, Oracle Secure Backup
- Subversion
- Oracle Enterprise Manager for monitoring.
- Oracle Solaris JumpStart
- Linux Kickstart Satellite/Spacewalk Server.
