Senior Project Manager
Role Overview
You will take full responsibility for the delivery of medium-scale projects, leading project teams and ensuring successful execution across scope, time, cost, and quality. The role includes stakeholder management, change control, and contract oversight within a complex and international environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project delivery, from initiation to closure
- Manage project scope, timelines, costs, quality, and resources
- Apply project management methodologies, tools, and governance frameworks
- Oversee risk management and change control processes
- Ensure delivery of project outputs within agreed tolerances and stakeholder acceptance
- Provide regular project status reporting and performance monitoring
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional project teams
Stakeholder Management
- Develop and manage stakeholder engagement strategies
- Act as the main point of contact for stakeholders
- Facilitate communication, decision-making, and alignment across stakeholders
Contract Management
- Monitor and manage contract performance and KPIs
- Ensure supplier compliance and address underperformance
- Support contract execution in coordination with contract officers
Additional Responsibilities
- Support broader project activities and senior leadership tasks
- Contribute to continuous improvement, standards, and tools
- Provide expertise in requirements definition and project planning
- Ensure adherence to security, privacy, and ethical standards
- Mentor team members and support knowledge sharing
Mandatory Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 3 years’ experience
(or 10 years’ relevant experience without a degree) - Recent experience in project management of acquisition and/or development projects in large organisations
- Strong experience with project management tools, cost control, and resource management
- Proven experience leading cross-functional teams, ideally in international environments
- Experience in project administration (budgeting, resource planning, financial tracking)
- Recognised project management certification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP) or equivalent experience
Desirable Skills
- Experience in C4ISR projects
- Familiarity with ServiceNow (SNOW) or similar tools
- Knowledge of NATO or government acquisition and procurement processes
- Experience working in international military/civilian environments
- Understanding of NATO structure (ACO/ACT)
Additional Information
- Full-time on-site role in Belgium
- Occasional travel within Belgium and potentially to operational sites
- Normal office environment
