Senior Technician (Information Systems AirC2)
Duties & Responsibilities
The Senior Technician (Information Systems AirC2) will support the operation, maintenance, and performance of assigned ICT platforms and applications within a service operations environment. Key responsibilities include:
Systems Installation, Operation & Maintenance
- Install, configure, operate, and maintain CORE systems, applications, databases, and ICT platforms.
- Ensure systems remain up to date with the latest patches, configurations, and best practices.
- Monitor system health and proactively address issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
Application & Platform Support
- Maintain application performance, availability, and data integrity across assigned platforms.
- Support IT Service Continuity Management (ITSCM), including Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans.
- Provide technical support during operational execution phases of CIS services.
Monitoring, Performance & Capacity Management
- Implement and maintain monitoring tools, procedures, and performance management techniques.
- Track, analyse, and report on system performance and capacity.
- Identify bottlenecks and recommend improvements to ensure optimal system performance.
Documentation & Configuration Management
- Produce and maintain accurate documentation for system design, configurations, and operating procedures.
- Ensure documentation aligns with operational standards and is kept up to date.
Coordination & Support
- Liaise with internal units, service lines, and external technical teams to ensure service integration and delivery.
- Support and implement assigned project work packages within defined timelines.
Operational Support
- Participate in 24/7 operational duties when required.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned in support of service operations.
Education, Experience & Training (Essential)
Education
- Higher vocational training in a relevant discipline with at least 2 years of post-related experience;
or - Secondary education with at least 4 years of relevant professional experience.
Experience
- Experience in systems administration of complex IT environments.
- Strong knowledge of installation and maintenance of:
- Operating systems
- Data management systems
- Office automation tools
- Utility software
- Experience diagnosing network issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Practical knowledge of Linux systems administration.
Experience & Training (Desirable)
Experience
- Knowledge of AirC2 systems.
- Experience working in international environments with both military and civilian stakeholders.
- Understanding of NATO organisational structures (including ACO and ACT).
- Experience working within an IT service provider environment with a focus on service delivery excellence.
